Our little Jackson just keeps on growin'...but then again that's what babies do.
Four months has seemed like the blink of an eye. I feel like each month just before he rolls over into a new month old he must get scared that he hasn't done enough new things so he starts working hard to do something new. Just days before turning four months old he decided it was time to start rolling. He rolls back and forth now but has a new found love for being on his tummy.
Oh yeah and he thinks he should be able to stand too...
Sleeping is the biggest change in our house this month. Jess and I were at our wits end with a bedtime routine that took almost three hours and then waking up every two to three hours all night long. We decided it was time to put some hard work into bedtime now rather than continue with bad habits any longer. I am happy to report that as of this last week Jackson is going down for bed in about 20-30 minutes(still working on this) and sleeping ALL NIGHT!! That's right eleven long hours. His napping schedule has also fallen into place now that he sleeps at night. The best part is he wakes up happy and talking in his crib! I just hope we can keep things going and be consistent.
Jackson is still eating every three hours and he eats about five ounces. I am going to talk to his pediatrician this month about when to start cereal and solids. He is still Mommy's big boy; weighing in at over 15lbs on our scale at home so I am anxious to see what the official doctor scale says about height, weight, and percentiles. I am not however excited about four month shots. Hopefully he will take it like a champ.
Jackson has been so active lately. I can tell this little guy is going to keep me busy. He grabs at everything and I am always telling him "thank you but mommy doesn't need help with this one hunny". He wants to do it all; put his binkie in, get himself dressed, wash his own face etc. Mostly he wants to impede the process by putting everything in his mouth. Oh well it's cute!!

See what I mean by BUSY... and yes we had a spotter for this one. |
He has been playing in his Johnny Jump Up and we just got him an exersaucer. He loves them both because he can be upright and looking around at things. He loves to look at books and hear Mommy read. His most favorite thing is to be tickled right under his chin or on his sides. He goes crazy giggling and it makes me melt. His temperament is so much more laid back since he started to sleep better.
Such a sweet happy little boy!!
