Week 8: Backslide

It happened...the one thing I dreaded since I started this whole thing...NO WEIGHT LOSS THIS WEEK...

I knew it would happen eventually; that I would have a plateau and that it would just mean I needed to step up my game and not be discouraged but I am discouraged.  This isn't a plateau...this is the direct result of poor choices.  I have chosen to be too busy to care about my body these past couple of weeks.  At least I can admit that this has served as a good slap in the face and I will commit myself to getting back on track.

Here are some of my mistakes: (When you see the words "too busy" substitute "too lazy")

I was "too busy" to workout.  Granted working out after a twelve hour shift is simply impossible.  I am lucky to make it safely to my bed in the mornings and admit to falling asleep at stop lights a time or two.  I have been working a lot of shifts and typically I like to work out in the evenings which is when I go to work so I just skipped out on workouts for the last two weeks.  BAD CHOICE #1!  I should have gotten my big bootie out of bed in the morning and worked out before I was even thinking about work.

I was "too busy" to pack a healthy lunch and cook well rounded meals.  I generally have no problem eating healthy at home.  I buy good foods and make good choices, but get me out in the real world and things go awry.  Trips to the cafeteria and nights of ordering out foods from local restaurants have killed my weight loss this week and frankly haven't helped in the budget department either.  This was the only thing carrying me from week to week when I had dips in my exercise routine.

Plans:  Tonight is my last night at work for the next week.  I am going to get back on track starting tonight by packing a healthy lunch.  I am going to workout four times this week since I will not be worrying at all about going to work or being overly busy.  I would like to try to get in the habit of working out right after Jack and I eat breakfast on the days we are home together.  He is usually in a good mood and I don't have to worry about him being too fussy in the stroller like in the evenings.  If I can make this small habit change I think it will really help me on the weeks I have a lot going on during the week.

Have you ever had a backslide?  How did you get back on track?  What did you do to stay motivated?

Weeks 6 & 7

I avoided the scale like the plague last week so I had to wait until this week for another post.  We went out of town for Memorial Day and needless to say I was no longer on a diet or working out for the week.  No worries I paid for it.  After weeks of eating healthy my little binge made me really sick to my stomach for two days.  We are home and I am somewhat back on track.  Not gonna lie, workouts have been really hard!!

Last two weeks of weight loss: 4lbs.  A really nice surprise considering last weekend and a true reflection of how good I have been eating.  This brings my total weight loss to 14lbs in 7 weeks.

Workouts have got to get back on track.  I have a million reasons why I have not been doing them...I'm bored, too hot, too stressed, too much to do, my knees hurt, and so on.  I have got to cut the excuses and get to work.  I know that this weight loss is going to slow down if I don't get moving.  I think it has been really easy to ignore the workout aspect of things because I am still loosing weight but I know I will be very disappointed if I get stalled out because of my lack of hard work.

Clothes are fitting better, and I have gotten a few compliments from people I have not seen in awhile so I am going to really focus on these things to motivate me.  Here are some other goals of mine...

If I stay on track this week I could say good bye to the 170's next week.  Do you know how good that would feel?!?  Have a productive week!!

P.S. I have moved up in the ranks quite a bit on TBB so if you have time will you give me a vote... Pretty Please!!!

Summer Lovin'

Today was glorious...

Beautiful weather, beautiful babies, and a beautiful best friend.  A girl couldn't ask for more.

We took the babies, who are looking more like toddlers these days, to Deana Rose.  They were all smiles; well most of the day.

It was a peaceful morning of exploring new things for these two cuties.

Cows, goats, and a pig that can run kept these littles busy all morning.  Jack was a little more interested in making mud pies and finding things to dismantle while Natalie loved on the goats and giggled.  They fill out the roles of a boy and girl quite nicely.

Here is our day in photos...

Ringing the bells.  Jackson was shaking the whole chain while Natalie rang each bell carefully examining each of them.

They both loved going up the slide together and carefully tried to help the other up.

Miss Natalie loved on these goats and squealed with excitement.

Jack liked running around the pen chasing the goats.  That was until he bit the dust, and fell on his head in goat poo.  It is a good thing I don't get worked up by a little goat poo.

In this particular photo Jackson is telling me "NO."  When I tell him no these days he points at me and shakes his head no back at me.  He wanted to play in the goat water...

Dancing in the garden.

Finally got some time on the other side of the lens with Jack.

If only he was as thrilled about it as I was.  Oh well these are great for a good laugh.  This little guy has his Momma's spirit.  Not exactly laid back but life is always full of surprises.

Can't wait for a summer full of fun with these special people.
