Beauty

The beauty of life has overwhelmed me today and most everyday.

You are so wonderful...and I can't imagine my life without you.  The everyday with you is beautiful.

I love the way you smile when I walk into a room or when you hear my voice you strain to see me.

I love the way you are not a morning person just like your Mommy and you would rather snuggle until well after ten in the morning.  And then wake up slow with song singing, smiles, and cuddles.

I love how determined you get when trying to reach for something you haven't quite figured out how to get.  I know someday this will be the drive behind your greatness.

I love how I can see little bits of your father in you.  I love how it isn't too obvious and sometimes I have to look for it but when I find it I am overwhelmed with joy.

You are amazing, just beautiful..and sweet.  I love you my sweet sweet boy!

My Boys

Looking back tonight and I realized I never posted pictures of my hubby with our little boy like I said I would

When we found out we were having a little boy I was so very excited, but I must admit I was also a little nervous!!  I don't know a whole lot about boys, and having two younger sisters that I remember practically raising, I was much more comfortable with the idea of having a little girl.  It wasn't until I told one of my dear friends at work I was having a boy,  that I was assured it would be GREAT!!  She was overjoyed when she found out Jackson was a boy and told me she thought I would be such a great " boy Mom."  Coming from a Mommy of two boys that meant a lot to me.

Today I can tell you, I wouldn't change it for the world(of course)!!  He is so amazing and just the coolest little guy ever.

I am even more blessed by having such an awesome husband who has turned being a new daddy into an art-form.  I always knew he would be great but he has surprised me.  Seeing the way my two boys are together is one of the best feelings in this world.  I just sit back, watch, and my heart swells.  They are best friends and it is so amazing to see the bond that is forming between the two of them.  Just as I feel Jackson and I have our own special language and connection, so do they.  There are things that only Jess can do to make our little one light up.

I remember in the first few weeks home Jess would ask me when he was going to start doing "the cool stuff."  I think he thought we were going to bring home a toddler from the hospital.  Well we have officially entered the "cool stuff" phase and these two are loving it.

Watching someone become a Daddy is breathtaking.  It doesn't happen in an instant like I think Motherhood does; instead it evolves from the moment they lay eyes on their child.  Feeling so blessed tonight!!

Happy Monday!

Jackson: Three Months

I know they say time flies when you have kids but I just can not believe I have a three month old.  I feel like he should be three weeks old.  He has learned so much in just three short months that it is hard for me to fathom what the next three will bring.

Pictures these days are a little rough.  He is getting the nickname wiggle worm in our house lately.  Just can't seem to sit still for more than a second.  He spent most of this month's photo shoot sideways in his chair...

My beautiful sleeper has stopped sleeping through the night :(  He was doing very well and then he hit a little growth spurt and needs to eat in the middle of the night again.  Mommy and Daddy are back to only a few hours of sleep at a time.  Although, I will tell you, on our little vacation we wore him out one day and he slept seven hours that night so I know there is hope.

Jackson is eating every three hours around the clock.  He takes about 4-41/2 ounces.  This month, nursing has been a challenge and I have had to work very hard to keep things moving forward in that department.  He has gotten so many bottles and likes that you don't have to work or wait for the milk so he has been having a hard time being patient with nursing.

This little guy gets busier and busier each month.  He is still rolling from front to back, but is also VERY close to going from his back to front.  He scoots around his crib at night and I am always interested to see what position he will be in when I come and get him in the morning.  Speaking of mornings, just this past week when I go to get him out of his crib in the morning he gets a huge smile as soon as he sees me come around the corner and sometimes even lets out a laugh or squeal.  It melts my heart!!  Best way to start the day.

He has found his little voice and uses it like crazy.  He learned to laugh out loud and giggle this month.  Those sound like the same thing but trust me are very different.  His giggle is out of this world cute.  His little personality continues to develop.  I have seen so many new traits in him this past month.  He is so determined and he loves to laugh.  When I am laughing at something he just can't help but smile or laugh right along.

One of my favorite things this month has been his hair.  It is filling in so cute, that is except for the bald spot in the back.  I swear I can see growth in his hair from day to day and you can find me constantly rubbing my hands through it.  He is so adorable.

LOVE <3
Still loving these, and he is starting to get to know them as well.

Oh yeah, and I just can't leave out one more thing.  He loves to snuggle!  It is the best thing in this world.  He buries his little face into my neck, takes a few heavy breaths, and then his whole body relaxes as he falls asleep.  So sweet!

Our baby boy brings more joy to our lives than Jess and I have ever known.  I thank God for giving him to us every single day.  We both just light up when we talk about him, because he truly is the light of our lives.

Hope you have an awesome week!!  Thanks for reading.

We're Home!!

Don't have much time tonight between the unpacking and ten loads of laundry but I had to pop in and say "Hello"...and of course post a couple of pictures from vacation.

Geese Watching

We had a blast but I am happy to be home.  Right now I am finishing up my little vacation by holding my sleeping baby an extra long time.  I really needed him this weekend and he needed me.

Coming right back tomorrow with Jackson's three month post...WOW, time flies!!

Fourth of July Fun

For us the Fourth of July has always meant family, friends, fireworks, and fun.  We had our families and friends over to our place this year for a pool party, BBQ, and fireworks.

Jackson was loving the pool yesterday.  Until now he hasn't been very fond of the pool, I think it is a little too cold for him.  Now he LOVES it!!  There were so many cute pictures of him in the pool!

The pool party was a definite hit!

Jackson looked so cute in his Fourth of July outfit and I kept calling him my little firecracker!  Holidays have always been so fun for me but this year they are extra special.  I love celebrating all the firsts.  I always have to have a special outfit for Jack for every occasion.  I know it is a bit obsessive but I want him to know just how much I love making his first year special.

This kiddo is beer bottle obsessed...LOL

He spent a good five minutes trying to get this beer in his mouth, a true guy.

After the sleepy baby was tucked in for the night we got to enjoy a fireworks show courtesy of "the boys."  They did a fabulous job of entertaining us ladies.

Sparklers have always been my favorite!

To top off the night we did a few sky lanterns.  Have you ever seen these?  They are so cool.  Someday I want to have a huge party where everyone sends up one of these.

We had a wonderful night...but stayed up entirely too late for new parents.  We are both feeling it today and I am sure an early bedtime is in store for us tonight.  The next week is going to be nuts as we prepare ourselves for our first vacation as a family of three.  Any advice on traveling or packing for a trip with a baby are much appreciated.
